Three weeks ago two pairs of Rawganique’s Organic Hemp Swim Trunks showed up at my doorstep. I’m not one to purchase most of my clothes new, choosing to save a dime instead. But I do prefer to encourage organic products over traditionally manufactured items, and as I was in need of more shorts, I figured to try something new.
Never having worn much hemp before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Would they be scratchy and stiff? Would the colors fade easily? Special machine washing instructions? It turns out, I need not worry as much as I had.
These shorts are extremely comfortable. I’m the kind of person given to living in a particular comfortable set of clothes for days on end. Maybe you didn’t want to know this about me, but if something is that comfortable I actually look forward to putting it on each day (within cleanliness reason). When they first showed up I wore one pair for 3 days and the other pair for 4 to get a feel for them.
I absolutely love these shorts. The fabric loosens up after a washing and is a medium soft. Not as soft as some more plush cottons, but not denim either. The fit is relaxed and the drawstrings long enough to accommodate a large lunch eaten too fast. The back zippered pocket works well while not allowing my wallet to turn sideways (something that ALWAYS annoys me in the wrong pair of shorts). I haven’t used the hidden key pocket or the velcroed pocket as of yet. The main pockets are ample with a nice deep collar making them easy to access while seated.
Even though they are touted as swim trunks, there is no internal liner. Instead, the fabric is simply lighter than their regular shorts to help while swimming and drying. My shorts have not been in the water yet so I can not comment on their swimability.
I rate these a 9 out of 10 for looks, color, fit and comfort. I can’t seem much of anything that needs to be adjusted but still need some time to test durability.
